Overview:
Mus-e Kosova, with the support of the European Union Office in Kosovo, in 2019-2022, implemented an innovative project titled “Promoting Cultural Heritage to young people through Ocarina.” Aimed at young learners in Fushe Kosove, Mitrovice, and Gjakove, the project sought to revive and celebrate the rich history of Ocarina, an ancient musical instrument in an oval shape found in Runik-Kosovo.
Engagement: Over 500 children from three primary schools participated in interactive workshops, learning about Ocarina’s history and crafting their instruments under the expert guidance of Maestro Shaqir Hoti.
Promotional Endeavors: The project was amplified through a compelling promotional video and informative brochures, disseminated online and in schools, sparking widespread interest and engagement with Kosovo’s cultural heritage.
This project educated and engaged young minds in cultural preservation and set a precedent for integrating cultural heritage into educational frameworks. The lasting resources created, including online music recordings and educational materials, continue to inspire and educate beyond the project’s conclusion.
