Empowering Kosovo’s Youth through Human Rights Education
Overview: Mus-e Kosova proudly implemented the project “Empowering Young People in Kosovo through the Promotion of Human Rights”, funded by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports- Republic of Kosovo from June to September 2019. Aimed at fostering a deep understanding and commitment to human rights and volunteering among Kosovo’s youth, the project embarked on an educational journey, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to become active, informed citizens. Key Components: Research Initiative: An insightful research study was conducted to gauge the level of awareness and engagement with human rights and volunteering among Kosovo’s youth. The findings informed the development of tailored training programs, addressing the identified gaps and needs. Curriculum Development: We crafted comprehensive training packages focusing on human rights and volunteering, designed to empower and inspire young individuals to take meaningful action within their communities. Youth Engagement: Following an open call, 20 enthusiastic participants were selected to partake in this transformative experience. These young individuals represented the diverse voices and aspirations of Kosovo’s youth, eager to make a difference. Training Sessions: Over July-September 2019, participants engaged in two intensive two-day trainings. The first focused on human rights principles and their application in daily life, while the second delved into the world of volunteering, highlighting its significance in personal and community development. Resource Development: A practical manual on voluntary work was developed, serving as a valuable resource for participants and the wider youth community. Distributed through social media and other platforms, this manual offers guidance on engaging in volunteerism effectively and ethically. Practical Involvement: With a compiled list of engaged young individuals, Mus-e Kosova connected these enthusiastic youths with various organizations. This step ensured the translation of theoretical knowledge into practical, impactful volunteer work, enriching individuals and their communities.
